Who we are…“THE Youth GroUP” (Gro-Up) is our ministry to middle school (6th - 8th grades) and senior high students here at Grace Bible Church. We are comprised of students from our church along with others from neighboring areas.
When we meet… “THE Youth GroUP” currently meets at the church on Wednesday nights. The middle school students meet in room 202 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m and senior high students meets in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Currently we do not have a Sunday School class for our youth ministry.
What we do… “THE Youth GroUP” participates in activities such as summer camp, winter camp and student conferences. We also occasionally attend sporting events, attend concerts with Christian artists and participate in World Vision's "30 Hour Famine" each year. Pool parties, Make Your Own Movie Nights, Broom Ball on Ice, and other recreational activities also find their ways onto our calendar from time to time. At our weekly meetings, our focus is the study of the Word of God and worship through song and prayer.
Why we meet… “THE Youth GroUP” has a desire to be a ministry that glorifies God. We seek to accomplish this through the faithful teaching of His Word and praying that the Holy Spirit will be continually working in the hearts and minds of our students, helping them to be conformed to the image of Christ.
The theme verse for our ministry is Ephesians 4:15: "Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” It is our desire that God will “GRO-UP” our students to reflect His glory to the world around.
What else?… “THE Youth GroUP” sponsors a child through Compassion International, sponsors a Pastor and his family in Nepal (a country where Christians are persecuted) through Voice of the Martyrs, and we encourage our students to be involved in other ways of serving Christ, both in the church and on short term mission trips.
We also provide opportunities for our students to serve through Body Builder Teams (in TYG), CE helpers, and our summer VBS/Backyard Bible Club ministry.
