Did God Really Say?

January 9, 2021 | by: Scott Denny | 0 comments

These are not just lifeless words on paper or glowing on your mobile devices. These words are breathed out by God [2 Timothy 3:16] for our good [2 Timothy 3:17], and for the Christian, these words are life giving, heart changing words [Psalm 19:7-9]. Is it any wonder why David would say, “I have stored your words in my heart that I might not sin against you”? [Psalm 119:11]... Keep Reading

The Joy that Flows from Fellowship in the Gospel

December 5, 2020 | by: Tony Sanelli | 0 comments

This is a great time to reflect upon the joy that flows from true Christian fellowship with one another and the Father and the Son. It is a joy that gives strength. It is a joy that empowers and sustains. It is a joy that comes to each of us via our mutual sacrifices for the gospel. It is a joy that flows from our engagement with other believers. That has been a challenge this year to be sure and will remain a challenge to some degree in the coming months, but I encourage each of you to take steps to ensure that you do not become isolated but rather, pursue spiritual interaction with one another. Pursue fellowship and the joy that flows from it.... Keep Reading

This World Is Not My Home

October 3, 2020 | by: Tom Kruggel | 0 comments

Finally, rest upon this, that "This same Jesus who is taken up from you shall so come in like manner as you've seen Him go into heaven." [Acts 1:11] And, "You can know this for sure, it's the Father's will that all that the Father gives Him He will raise up at the last day and will lose none of that," [John 6:39] Fellow strangers and pilgrims, what a heavenly promise worth both living and dying for while we now momentarily reside in a world that… is not our home.... September 19, 2020 Let me begin by saying, on behalf of the elders, that we are extremely grateful and proud of our church family. The virus, government restrictions, social unrest and the fires have inflicted us with many temptations to lose hope and become impatient with others. But the vast majo… Read More

Fall has always been a time when we kick-off several annual ministries at GBC, and this year, despite the inconveniences and challenges that the health and safety guidelines have created, we remain committed to fulfilling our call to minister the word of God so as to make disciples. We thought it be… Read More

Fighting for UNITY

September 1, 2020 | by: Scott Denny | 0 comments

We may not agree with one another about this shut-down or the severity of the coronavirus or the necessity to wear face masks, or the need to social distance, but are these the hills we’re dying on as a church? Are these the issues of the day that we’re choosing to break fellowship over? Are these the issues that we’re unwilling to prefer the interest of others ahead of our own? May it never be! I urge you. I beg you, for the sake of our Lord, to be passionate about preserving the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Walk humbly with one another. Walk gently. Be Patient and lovingly forebear with your brothers and sisters. The world is watching and they will know we are lovers of Christ by how we love one another [John 13:35].... Keep Reading

Christ and Culture REVISITED

August 7, 2020 | by: Tony Sanelli | 0 comments

I take this opportunity to remind you that we are like Daniel living in Babylon, not like Israel taking the Promised Land. We can seek to do good for Nebuchadnezzar, but we can’t become absorbed, co-opted or compromise the gospel. We should make our voice heard in the political arena, but we are not called to “take over” or make a god out of politics. We must not confuse the two kingdoms and must never compromise the gospel nor our primary mission in this world at the expense of engaging the culture.... Keep Reading

July 16th, 2020 Dear Brothers and Sisters, As you know, the county is prohibiting all indoor gatherings indefinitely. Therefore, out of submission to "the governing authorities over us" (Romans 13:1-4), we are ceasing our in-person services until further notice. So w… Read More

HOPE

July 3, 2020 | by: Tom Kruggel | 0 comments

Christian hope can elevate to a confident expectation. We all hope for an end to the pandemic, and that national unity and world peace would come about soon, come about quickly. So let us so pray and pray earnestly so. “… I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior”. [I Timothy 2:1-3 (ESV)]... Keep Reading
