So as you may be struggling to find contentment during this season of our lives, consider these reminders from Scripture that will help us to battle to be content. God is good. He is working. He has plans that will not be thwarted. He loves you. He is preparing you for glory. His blessings are abundant every day. Our time is short on this earth, don't get caught up loving this place and finding yourself just wanting more and more and more. This world and its offerings will never bring contentment. Only Jesus does that! Seek after Him.... Keep Reading

In Revelation 22 we learn that it will be a perfect new creation like the Garden of Eden except we will never be able to fall into sin again. There will be a river of the water of life and the tree of life. There will be no curse. And we will see the face of our creator and enjoy him forever. And we will finally and perfectly be able to fulfill our created purpose by reigning with Him over the world forever and ever.... Keep Reading

The biggest thing He taught me is that He is in control and faithful. This is true, even if it feels like the darkest before the dawn (the day before that recruiter reached out to me, a year and a half without a job) or like the bright of day (the first day at work after three whirlwind weeks of interviews, adjustments, and an urgent wardrobe upgrade from a year of hoodies and jeans). It has been said that Jesus does not work according to our timetable, but He is never late. He rescued us; He changed me; I know personally how much I can lean hard on Him. Jesus’ call to me is to trust that He knows what is best for me and who He is shaping me to be. Anybody else’s experience will be different, because He loves us enough not to make our story like anyone else’s.... Keep Reading

All of these truths and challenges for and to us are all rooted in Jesus and who he was, what he became and how he lived, as he utterly humbled himself in order to please and glorify the Father. May we all seek to love and honor him by striving together to be like him, and may Jesus get all of the glory for it!... Keep Reading

Make a new beginning in 2020 and feed your soul with the sustenance it so desperately desires but gets quickly crowded out with the tyranny of the urgent and the alluring which tantalize. Rise “… early… seek Thee” anew, just as our Lord Jesus did when He arose and prayed, accepting that His “mercies… are new every morning”.... Keep Reading

At the end of the day, we recognize that no change in this church’s DNA is possible apart from the Holy Spirit’s transforming work in the hearts of God’s people. We can facilitate as many opportunities as our schedules allow and provide as many resources as our budget allows, but unless the Lord changes and transforms the hearts and minds of God’s people to see the value of investing our time into our children and each other then nothing will change. ... The Lord offers Himself to us too, beloved, as the Rock upon which we can stand in each of our daily situations, reflections, and choices. And that Rock is Christ who, though faced with our temptations to crumble, withstood and was faithful for us, triumphing on our behalf. ... Keep Reading

So who has demonstrated more kindness to you than your Savior Jesus? Who, for the joy set before Him endured the shame of the cross for your eternal benefit. (Hebrews 12:2). He gifted you saving faith (Ephesians 2:8), atoned for your sin through His blood (Ephesians 2:13, Col. 2:13-14), granted you all His meritorious accomplishments and righteousness through union with Himself (Ephesians 1:3-14, 1 Corinthians 5:21), and gave you the gift of His abiding Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:12-14)....
