Who we are…“TYG” (The Youth Group) is our ministry to middle school and high school (6th-12th grade) students here at Grace Bible Church. We are comprised of students from our church along with others from neighboring areas.
When we meet…TYG meets at the church on Wednesday nights in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Currently, we do not have a Sunday School class for our youth ministry.
What we do…TYG’s weekly meetings consist of the study of the Word of God, worship through song, prayer, and fellowship with one another. We also participate in many activities such as summer camp, winter camp, pool parties, make your own movie nights, broom ball on ice, and other recreational activities also find their ways onto our calendar from time to time.
Why we meet… TYG’s greatest desire is to glorify God. We pursue this by faithfully teaching God’s Word and praying that the Holy Spirit would continually work in the hearts and minds of our students, conforming them more into the image of Christ. The theme verse for our ministry is Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” This indeed is our greatest desire, to glorify God in all we do. Our goal is to faithfully preach the Gospel to our students. We desire that all of our students would know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior with a full understanding of the Gospel.
What else?…TYG sponsors a child through Compassion International, sponsors a Pastor and his family in Vietnam through Voice of the Martyrs, and we encourage our students to be involved in other ways of serving Christ in the church through various means.
